Shameless squeeing
15 Sep 2010 13:47I woke up this morning to find three LJ pingbacks in my inbox, which puzzled me slightly, as I haven't posted for a few days. Further investigation revealed the cause, and a lovely surprise it is, too:
Yes, I've been shortlisted in Lib Dem Voice's 2010 Blog of the Year Awards, for one of my pre-election posts (LJ/DW). Thanks to the judges, and congratulations to all the other shortlisted nominees for all the awards. I'm chuffed to be named in such illustrious company.
I haven't been blogging much on politics since the election, so let me take this opportunity to say that I hope this state of affairs will be temporary. It's been due to a sudden upturn in the demands work and parenting are making on my time and energy; what reserves I do still have to devote to activism, I've mostly been devoting to more immediate priorities than writing. I stand by everything I said in the post I've been nominated for, but I also recognise that there is a lot wrong with the Coalition Government, and there are certainly things I want to do and say about that as and when life allows. Some of them, I will be saying within the party rather than publicly, at least to start with - but rest assured I am neither complacent nor hiding, just fulfilling other obligations.
